Refugee Housing Project

The Bristol North West Foodbank has plans to expand its warehouse to make more space onsite for the growing needs of the Homebank.

At the time of planning this expansion, it was decided that it would be a good opportunity to address other local needs by building two flats above the warehouse to accommodate two refugee households, a group that the Foodbank has had increased connection with in recent years and know that accommodation is difficult to come by.

The Foodbank (and St Andrews Church) has many volunteers who have skills and knowledge that would be beneficial to refugees making Bristol their home. It is our intention to use many of the connections that Bristol North West Foodbank has in place to support the two households that will eventually reside in the flats above the expanded warehouse.

We are currently awaiting planning permission from Bristol City Council before we commence fundraising, building work and compiling a team for community support.

Julie Cole is our project manager.  Please contact her if you have any questions, email:  housing@bristolnwfoodbank.org.uk
